Finally the wait is over. Another few hours Tampa Bengali community will worship the new Durga pratima from Kumartuli. With first ever 3-day pujo by Soikot, potluck dinner on Friday, pujo/anjali by our favorite purohit Anirban, yummy bhog prepared by Alokda, 5 hours of non-stop performance by local talents and yummy catered dinner from Clay Oven on Sat followed by Bijoya/sindur-khela and catered delicious lunch with another 4 hours of musical dhamaka by Iman Chakraborty and Saptak Bhattacharjee on Sunday, plus arrangement of jhal-muri or dosha as evening snacks ... OMG this will be another spectacular and fun-filled week for Tampa bongs after Banga Sammelam.

CRY Seattle brings to you "Heart2Heart with Amol  Kelkar", a Bollywood live music concert on Sept 20 at Meydenbauer Center, Bellevue.

This is a solo concert by Amol Kelkar, affectionately called the "Sonu Nigam of Seattle". He has been performing with Swarali and various other bands in housefull shows for more than 15 years. In Heart2Heart, Amol is presenting 7 musical acts showcasing 7 distinct facets of his versatile vocal performance, from semi-classical to rock, and unique interpretations of the music by talented musicians from the Seattle area.

The articles can be Bangla or English poems, short stories, art-work, drawings (both, by small & "big" kids welcome), photographs, travelogues etc.

Some things to note:

1. We print in black & white. Therefore dark images (or dark colors) will be hard to see.  Please edit your submissions accordingly.

 2. Please send typed copies; for those sending Bengali articles, please use an appropriate font utility and type it up.

First of all, thank you all for making Sanskriti's Music Festival a grand success. Our  next program is Durga Puja and the Annual Festival. Undoubtedly, Durga Puja is the iconic festival of Bengal. Where ever there are Indians, especially Bengali, they try to recreate the fervent atomsphere of the festival back home. Furthermore, the  socio-cultural connotaion of Durga Puja can not possibly be overemphasized. Smiti Majumdar grew up with music and literature as integral part of her education. She later advanced her training in Rabindrasangeet under the guidance of Shri Subinoy Roy. Smiti has performed in several cities in India and the US.
